Favorite Poets (and frequent contributors) We So Appreciate (just can't help but purr)... Angelee Deodhar, pl wick, Patricia Carragon, and, Dennis Rhodes!

        geeks,
      grifters &
      candied apples

       no
       Sunday lots here...

walking on the edge
adventuring on the
wrong side of the tracks--

no matter how garish
the glittering  raucous
outlaw midway  how loud
how seemingly unsafe
the Tilt-o-Whirl  Hammer
or clank-rattling
pneumatic-hiss Octopus
how tinny the carousel
calliope clang or
chipped the dream-world
hurtling wooden steeds

candied midway apples
re flavor memories. . .

         The 4-Dimensional Man

         The 4-dimensional man
         contains 4 ideas,
         4 times his squared root.

         The 4-dimensional cat
         contains more ideas,
         but she's not telling.

                               Dead Flower

I may be fluent in maturity,
                                  but I'm still a child
who walks awkwardly in high heels.
                                  In adult clothes,
                                  I speak adult words,
                                  pretend to be grown up.
                                  Yet I'm still a child,
                                  who holds a dead flower
                                  and hides behind adult clothes
                                  and words,
                                  feeling that at any moment,
                                  someone might expose
the shame of a fairytale princess
                                  who forgot how to cry.

assistant editor Frosty, asking, "Aren't all cats
4-dimensional?"
"Probably so,"
responds assistant editor Tama, "yet, I feel sadness
for the fairytale princess..."
"Tama, there are twenty-eight other poems in Patricia's book,
and I know we'll feel better after reading all of them (again)..."
"Yes! You have me purring again, Frosty!"

And! Our longtime friend, poet Dennis Rhodes, from Naples, Florida...

    In passing

Our backpacks touched on the subway:
a gentle nudge, tender and sweet.
Our backpacks miss one another--

it's a shame WE didn't meet.

             My best advice is
just get out of your own way--
             now, what's the question?

The world, so fragile
so terribly decadent.
How I love it so.

Story of my life.
I just think in poetry
and suffer in verse.

A note to poets:
we're all in this together--
be gentle, be kind.

Noble assistant editors, you've created a gentle,
kind and tender post!
Do you think it's time for extra-special treats!?!
              Happy mews, big grin

see you in a moment
